Map Provider

Select the map provider to use from the list of available map providers.

Show Route

Show or hide the route line.

Show Bridging Lines

Show or hide route bridging lines.

Bridging lines are optionally drawn to connect route lines if positions aren't available in the logs.

Remark: The Show Bridging Lines menu item is disabled if the Maximum days to bridge value is below 2 (see the Options section).

Show Markers

Show or hide the position markers.

Show Noon Positions Only

Only show a day's noon position, hiding possible additional positions, which are often less accurate dead-reckoning positions.

Show Zoom/Pan Controls

Show or hide the zoom and pan controls on the map.

Show Cursor Position

Show or hide the mouse cursor position on the map.

Show Scale Bar

Show or hide the scale bar on the map.

Show Legend

Show or hide the map legend.

Show Filter Active

Show or hide the filter message on the map.

Zoom To Fit Journey

Zoom the map to fit the journey.

Zoom To Selection

Zoom the map to fit the selected area.

An area can be selected by dragging the mouse whilst holding down the right mouse button.

Maximize Map

Maximize or restore the map area.

Panes

Show or hide panes.

Show Ship Selection	Show or hide the Ship Selection pane. See the Ship Selection Pane section for a full description of the Ship Selection pane.
Show Description	Show or hide the Description pane. See the Description Pane section for a full description of the Description pane.
Show Information	Show or hide the Information pane. See the Information Pane section for a full description of the Information pane.
Show Date Filter	Show or hide the Date Filter pane. See the Date Filter Pane section for a full description of the Date Filter pane.
Show Search	Show or hide the Search pane. See the Search Pane section for a full description of the Search pane.
Show Position Tools	Show or hide the Position Tools pane. See the Position Tools Pane section for a full description of the Position Tools pane.
Show Report	Show or hide the Report pane. See the Report Pane section for a full description of the Report pane. Remark: The Show Report menu item is only available if Editor Functionality is enabled (see the Options section).

Load Default Layout	Reset the environment's layout changes you made by loading the default layout.

Tools

Search...

Show the Search pane.
See the Search Pane section for a full description of the Search pane.

Position Tools...

Show the Position Tools pane.
See the Position Tools Pane section for a full description of the Position Tools pane.

Report

Create reports for missing, invalid or duplicate dates.

Reports will be presented in the Report pane and can be used to check your document.

The individual reports shown below are described in detail in the Editor Functionality section.

Remark: The Report menu is only available if Editor Functionality is enabled (see the Options section).

Missing Dates	Generate a list of missing dates, including invalid formatted dates or dates without a link to a log-page.
Duplicate Dates	Generate a list of dates that have been encountered more than once in the document.
Dates Without Position	Generate a list of dates for which Journey Plotter didn't find a valid position in the document.
Suspicious Speed	Generate a list of dates that show a suspiciously high average speed.

Map Access Mode

Select the map provider access mode.

Server and Cache

Set the map provider access mode to Server and Cache.

To minimize data transfer, map information is first requested from the local cache.
If the data is not available locally, the map information is requested from the map provider and stored in the local cache.

Server Only

Set the map provider access mode to Server Only.

Map information is always requested from the map provider.

Cache Only

Set the map provider access mode to Cache Only.

Map information is always requested from the local cache.
If the data is not available locally, the map information will not be requested from the map provider.

Map Cache...

Show a window containing information about the size of the local map cache.

Separate information is shown about the size in memory and on disk.

Use the Clear Disk Cache button to delete all map information from the local map cache.
Remark: This does not reduce the size of the cache on disk, it only deletes its content.

Use the Optimize Disk Cache button to optimize the contents of the local map cache in order to reduce its size on disk.
Remark: Depending on the amount of information in the cache, this can be a lengthy exercise.

Options...

Show the Option panes to change settings to your own preferences.
Check Options section for a more detailed description of the various settings.

General	Show or hide the General Options pane.
Map	Show or hide the Map Options pane.
Tools	Show or hide the Tools Options pane.
Editor	Show or hide the Editor Options pane.

Help

Open File...	Open one or more edited files for inspection. For an edited document to be loaded into Journey Plotter, it has to be saved, or exported, as a webpage. Some word processors describe this as the (Extensible) Hypertext Markup Language format (.html or .xhtml). Remark: The Open File menu item is only available if Editor Functionality is enabled (see the Options section).
Append File...	Append one or more edited files for inspection. For an edited document to be loaded into Journey Plotter, it has to be saved, or exported, as a webpage. Some word processors describe this as the (Extensible) Hypertext Markup Language format (.html or .xhtml). Remark: The Append File menu item is only available if Editor Functionality is enabled (see the Options section).

Export...	Export the displayed journey to disk in KML (Google Earth), GPX, NMEA0183, GeoJSON or CSV format. Export will take date selection and the visibility of route and markers into account. GPX will create a track if the route is visible, but waypoints if only markers are visible. NMEA0183 and CSV will not have route information, only marker positions.
Save Map...	Save the currently viewed map to disk in Bitmap (.bmp), Graphics Interchange Format (.gif), Joint Photographic Experts Group (.jpg), Portable Network Graphics (.png) or Tagged Image File Format (.tiff) format. It's possible to only save a selected map area. An area can be selected by dragging the mouse whilst holding down the right mouse button.

Exit	Exit Journey Plotter.
